Jake & Aletha 10.1.05
I am still on a high from this wedding. It was so much fun. Why because you could just feel the love and the energy that these two shared with each other and their family. It was truly amazing.

After a short trip Kaylla and I arrived in Rock Valley, IA a small Dutch community. We started out at the church and were there to capture the first few moments the couple shared together, and then we set off on a mini photo safari. We went out to a field, down by a little pond and then back to the church for some formals with the bridal party and the family. The ceremony was lovely and at the end the couple was surprised by the brides’ dad, with a two-horse team and cart to carry them and their wedding party to the reception.
Before they entered the reception hall I managed to steal them away to this blue wall. Just loved it the second I took it. Then there was the dinner, the speeches and a wonderful poem by Aletha's grandpa. Jake almost made me cry when he got up and said that the one thing he forgot to talk to and thank his dad about before he passed away was for teaching him all his life by his example how to be a good husband. He said he wanted to be as good of a husband to Aletha as his dad had been to his mom. (starting to cry again)
Then there was all the fabulous dancing. You see this wonderful shot is why I stick around for the dancing, not only the touching moments of the first dances, but also the fun and excitement when you let loose later in the evening. O yes it was fun.
Thank you two for everything, you are wonderful gracious people and I feel so privileged to have been a part of it. Congratulations.
