Ayden’s First Day of PreSchool

Today was Ayden’s first day of preschool. We are fortunate to have got him into the SDSU Preschool where it is a labratory teaching environment. The amount of teachers to students is very very good.

He was so excited all day long. When we got there we took a few images and off he went. We couldn’t keep up with him as he ran down the hall, went straight to his locker and out on the playground. I reminded him to say goodbye to his dad, which he did as he ran out the door and didn’t even look over to say it. Then we spied on him as he played. First jumping off a toy and then rounding up two girls for himself. Ata boy. he he.

Cory Ann - Kelli,
He was proud.

Victoria,
Thank you for your compliments. The camera was the Nikon D2x with the Sigma 30 1.4 lens set at 100 ISO, 100 shutter speed and an aperture of 4.0. I did not focus for him, the camera is always on manual with autofocus. I just put the focusing sensor on the middle one for him and he goes. He’s been using the camera since I got it so he knows which button to push. It’s funny. Before he took the image he actually told me to tilt my head a specific way before he would take it. Don’t know who he gets that from.

Anonymous - Great shots! I have been reading your blog for half a year and I must say I love every image you take. Your son is just adorable and a great model! Same for your husband!!

Ayden took a great shot of you both as well. How did he do that!? I’m new to photography. Just got a Nikon D100 last year and I’m still learning (also unashamedly copying some of your “style” taking shots of my daughters). Did you prefocus it for him and then jumped in the shot with your husband? I assume it was shot with like an F 5.6 aperture setting??

Have a great day!
Victoria
