Winged Nike Intimate™ – SD Photographer

I love when a client has an idea for a shoot. The question is always how can I be true to what they want and create my version of it? Well that rang especially true when C decided to do an intimate session that was very special. C has loved the winged Nike statue currently at the Louvre and wanted to recreate it. Talk about pressure. You want me to create something that was already done by the Greek’s. Umm ok I’m up for a challenge. Of course I said it to C with far more confidence.

We set out last week in the morning to get the great light and feel that we wanted. While the statue is marble it has a lifelike feel because of the movement of the fabric. This proved to be the hardest thing to get right. Material does not cling to the body like one would think it would. Sculpting and painting offer the artist and opportunity to altar what they may otherwise see on their model, photography is a bit tougher and I like to get it right in camera and keep the post work to a minimum.

C was a great model, she was tough (those wings were heavy) and beautiful at the same time. Here is the outcome of our work. I think it’s safe to say that C and I both love it! C’s first response when I e-mailed her a proof was “This freakin’ rocks… I LOVE IT!” and then a few moments later I got another e-mail that said, “phenomenal phenomenal… Fabulous… I’m in love. Do I really look like that?”

Yes C you really look like that!

Can you say big canvas for my home? Hmmmm. Thank you C for the opportunity to create something unique!

Nikki McLeod Photography - Oh man if I looked as beautiful as that, and was photographed as well as that, I would have that hanging in a big canvas for all to see.

Stunning imagery!

Zofia - This is gorgeous Cory Ann! I love the milky smoothness of the processing and the warm tone. She looks perfect. Serene and strong. Great hair too! If this were me, I’d want a really large canvas. Something almost life size on a thin tall wall, like a staircase. Great job!
