From SDSU Preschool

Yesterday I spent some time in Ayden's class talking to them about cameras and film. They have been playing with some old ones and found them very interesting so to take it one step farther I showed them some cool stuff. Including polariod (more to come on that) a couple of brownies and some digital cameras. Most hadn't even ever seen film before, so pulling out a roll of film for them to look at was fun.

Today when I dropped him off they gave me this note with images and these yummy chocolates. Darn I'm gonna need to work out more.

If anyone else is interested in having me visit their classes let me know, it sure is fun to do. We can talk about photography, business, copyright and any slew of stuff like that for preschool through college. I do miss teaching (did you know I used to teach and coach at a university) and it's a great opportunity for me to give back.

Templates are Live

It's official we are finally offering our templates for sale to other photographers. We have been asked for years to do this and it's a large undertaking so we didn't, but Erin worked her butt off and got many of our cards into template format. We hope to add more in the future as we make them.

They are not available to area photogs, sorry but we make many of these custom for our clients and they don't need to see their design used for their friend from another photog locally. We don't even reuse them until over a year after a custom design.

The templates are easy to use and should give you a jump start on those grad announcements coming up, as well as all the other uses through out the year.

Creative License Sessions

New fun announcement! March will be Creative License Month and portrait sessions will be offered free of charge.

There is of course a catch. You get to make two decisions only. What you wear into the session and what you order. All other decisions are up to the photographer. We get to decide poses, backgrounds, lighting everything. You are leaving it all up to us.... the way it should be of course.

This blog posts marks the opening of bookings.
February 11-17 bookings are open to past AC Ellis Clients only. So if you have done a full priced studio or standard session or had your wedding booked with us you are eligible during this first week.
February 18-24 bookings are open to all who call, but on the 25th radio and print ads will start so if your a blog reader the 18-24 is your chance.

Call or e-mail Cory Ann to set up your session times.

The images taken during these session are not available for commercial use unless additional fees are paid at full-price. High School graduates and intimate sessions are also exempt from these session. Families, individuals, pets, couples, etc are all eligible. Sessions will typically be in studio and area sessions. Maria's sessions will be on-location of our choice in Sioux Falls. Weather will not cause a reschedule, just something for us to work around. Cancellations are final, no rescheduling is not allowed. Only one session per immediate family.

Working Out

No it's not a New Year's Resolution. I don't like those. I just want to look good on the job, be a hot mom and darn it after looking at and photographing beautiful women all day I think it's just enough motivation to hit the gym.

I used to be very active as an athlete in college and then a coach, but now spend most of my time in front of the computer and darn it I want some curves back. So you all need to hold me to it. Please.

A little competition... I plan on going 3x per week for a minimum of 6 months. Every day I do not go I will give away a free intimate session. If I'm not making myself look and feel better I mind as well be making you look and feel better. Further rules and such are on the link on the right.

Let the games begin.

Well I know many of you are planning your weddings right now and while I have seen a trend away from cakes into other deserts some still stick with the cake. Either way fine by me, I just love the sugar rush after a full day and look forward to it all. But if you are getting a cake check out the contest at Brides.com.
