Some of our holiday decorations to put you in the mood.

This little piece gets to adorn our front window the day after Thanksgiving until New Years. It’s our way of making the people driving by smile. And if you don’t get the humor in it, well you don’t need to do any celebrating at our house. Fra-gi-lee!

I love collecting ornaments for the tree. I like unique ones. My favorites by far are the old glass painted retro and also the mercury vintage glass ornaments. Like this one.

I do adore this white porcelain ornament.

The pond with the blackest water I have ever seen. It could be a location in a Stephen King novel.

My little tribute to the outdoor shower.

This I took with a timer and it was not easy to get right.

On this day I went for a little drive. And ended up finding some fall colors and random boats tied on this inlet. It was great to weave through the trails in the brush and find the boats and also random bicycles nearby. It is such a different relaxed way of life. Love it.

Now I have I’m making some time and I’ll try to share some of my images from travels and the family.

Ireland was amazing, but I didn’t get to take very many images and I hope to go back and have a different experience in the future. We had beautiful weather and while that was great in some regards it didn’t work well for the imagery. It was so lush and green and I felt cheated not getting the overcast fog that I’ve come to associate with Ireland. Of course it was still beautiful, just not ideal for images.

The Guinness Factory in Dublin was surprisingly fun. Now we love Guinness around our house. Our Great Dane is named Guinness and if you want a glass of water it will come from a Guinness glass. But I don’t like museums and such much and expected to not like the factory. But it had amazing architecture and the displays were very fun and interactive. It was like a coming home for Andy and our friend Fitz (I’ll do a separate post with personal images). I loved the raw layout of the building and this is one of the images I liked.

This is the Bunratty Castle. I could not believe how beautiful the castles can be in such a simplistic way. I bet they were stunning in their prime.

The stone fences just drew me in.

In this image you can see the stone fences going all of the way up the hillside. I would not want to be the one building these.

No Man’s Land

Of course no trip to Ireland would be complete with out the Cliff of Mohr. I want to go back and shoot these from the water. Before the sun is up.

Some images down by the seaside. The water was so clear and blue and the rock formations cool.

My Dad thought it was a little morbid so I didn’t get to shoot the cemeteries as much as I would have liked. But these old tributes to those who came before us offered so much for my camera I had to stop at just one.

I grew up in N. California by the ocean, but I’ve never seen a tide change like it did in Ireland. I couldn’t believe that there were boats sitting on the keel since the tide had gone out. These are stairs to the water or ground since the tide was out.

Some landscapes

I love architecture and the cathedrals in Ireland offered so much for me to look at. This was my favorite cathedral located in Killarney is St. Mary’s.

Can you believe these are all individual tiles. Amazing.

http://www.acellis.com/blogprep/?p=1275 I’m odd in that sometimes I wish I had a layover so that I could spend some time photographing the airport. On my trip with Ayden I did. All but the fire hydrant are at Chicago O’Hare. I love their underground tunnel.
