This grooms cake had a smooth buttercream frosting, a ganache dripping over the sides from the top and a fabulously cool checker board inside. The inside is red velvet and white cake. I’m drooling just typing about it.

Naked cakes are a current trend and I think they are wonderful. So entirely different. Most of them are round, but The Cake Lady’s did this one square and wouldn’t this be fun to have the layers in your wedding colors rather then frosting?

I headed down to the bridal show one Sunday to capture a couple of other cakes, but DJ Jer Lighting had this one lit perfectly and I had to capture it in it’s grandeur. All of the beads and everything were handmade and are edible. Such a work of art!

I loved the delicate flowers on this cake. There were lovely subtle coloring inside of them and then of course there was the deep purple fondant underneath. I think this was my favorite that day.

These two cakes are simple and perfect for a small wedding. They both have diagonal wrapping of the outer decorative elements. and a beautiful flower anchoring it all.

A country wedding isn’t complete with out wild flowers.

The straps on Tessa’s dress allowed for the open back and lower neck line. Beautiful.

From the moment we walked in the church I loved the light. So soft and with a quick fall off coming in the side windows. After meeting Tessa I knew she had the long lines to make this a classic portrait.

One of the perks to being on the altar is to get this exit image, where you can see the entire congregation on the expressions on the parents faces.

These guys were not camera shy.

As the storm was rolling in we managed to create this in the parking lot before going into the reception. I love storms for pictures.

The first dance and some cuddle time during the slideshow.
