Texas Bride

While in TX we also had the privledge of photographing in groups of 3-4 with a real bride. It was different to photograph in groups, we all saw something different, had a slightly different style and had to find was to work together. Jen Bebb who is in the post from earlier was in my group and I found we worked very well together. You should see this one image she got, it was amazing!

Actually there were 11 groups and they all created some amazing work, it was very humbling to see what they all could produce in a couple of hours with a bride. And these brides were so willing to do anything we asked and get those dresses as dirty as we asked. While doing this shooting exercise we had a shot list to work from, certain things we needed to get it was a good exercise. Here are a few from it.

Miss Me?

I haven't been blogging for two main reasons... I've been working hard to get things ordered, created, printed and all that for the holidays and I had to go and learn last week. In my absence the girls got so much done. It was nice to know that the office could run in my absence. Many of you should have received orders and many more will be recieving them soon. I of course came home to a pile of more orders and some weddings to work on. I will be in the office working all next week so if you need anything e-mail or call. I will be going down the list.

Anyway I was in Texas this last week at a workshop. It was called the anti-workshop and it was put on by two of the most amazing husband and wife teams, The Coopers and The Boutwells. I learned a lot, made a bunch of new friends and am ready to work my butt off to implement new techinques and business practices after the new year (have to get through the holiday rush first).

We had some shooting exercises and one of them with with another wonderful husband wife photog team the Bebbs of Tying the Knot in Vancouver. Here are some images from the Bebbs.

Eric + Lisa After Shoot 10.22.06

Talk about troopers. The temp had to be in the 30's or so, with winds making it colder, but Lisa and Eric did a wonderful job! Their wedding was last Dec. and we were waiting for snow for their after shoot, but it never came. So we just finally got a date that worked for both of us. And since they were such troopers I'm going to share a few extras.

Lynsay + Brent Bridal 09.26.06

Sometimes after the wedding you just want some different images. It's fun to romp around in the grass, the road or wherever. This is a wonderful opportunity and you get to make use of that dress at least one more time. Here are Lynsay and Brent.

Secret Bridal

Early Friday morning we had a fun little shoot. Some of you know what it was about and why it was a bit of a secret. So here is one little tease from this absolutely fab bridal.

Mock Bridal

Thursday started with some training for Sara. I set up a mock bridal shoot with Gretchen as the model. We walked around and did different stuff and I tried to tell Sara what I look for and what's going through my mind as I shoot. Gretchen was a great model!

We stopped by Bloomingvilla and got this cool piece of Ginger, they always have the neatest stuff in there! And then this second image is taken with a dumpster as a backdrop... trying to show Sara to look for backdrops all over.

Thank you Gretchen for being our muse.

Masondra & Jordan 7.23.05

I cannot tell you how much I love these two. They are so fun and free and themselves in front of the camera. I went up to MN to shoot their bridal session. I thought it would be fun to have a different area to shoot in. Tamer, a fellow photog, was kind enough to drive me around on Friday evening to scout out locations and then second shot the session on Sat. (He got some wonderful images too). We ended up in downtown St. Paul and found some wonderfully cool urban setting to compliment the more natural setting that we had on their wedding day.

You know many people would have been halted by the horrible humidity, but not these two. They were a blast. Here are a couple of my favs. This is from their bridal session, their wedding, which was also a blast, was in May.
